I’m inviting you to sit at my mother’s table with us.
This evening is rooted in the way our family has always gathered, and I want to share that with you. With food placed at the center, passed around the table, carried alongside stories and memories of the ancestors who cooked before us.
The menu is co-created by me and my mother and draws from recipes passed down through her grandmother and great-grandmother. Woven through the meal are South African influences from our recent travels and a few of the dishes I’m known for today, all shared in the same spirit they were first made. I'm overjoyed to collaborate with my first love on this project... MY MOM.
As we eat, we’ll share where the food comes from, who carried it, and how it has traveled across generations and continents to arrive at this table. The stories are just as important as the meal, and they'll unfold naturally throughout the night.
This dinner also on my mother's birthday honors her and her lineage, making the gathering feel especially sacred. During the evening, we’ll be sharing her pillow collection for the first time, along with my apron and oven-mitt collection—pieces inspired by home, comfort, and the quiet work of feeding and caring for others. Everyone seated at the table will have first access to these one of a kind items, we curated with as much intention as the meal.
There are only 20 seats because this table is meant to stay intimate. I want the flavor, feelings, connection and the night to linger.
I would love for you to join us.
